Silkaatsnek Nature Reserve
On the edge of the provinces Gauteng and North West, on the foothill of the majestic Magaliesberg mountainridge just beside the passing (=nek) near Hartbeespoort, lies the 300 hectares Silkaatsnek Nature Reserve of wild rough terrain, privately owned and not open to the public. In the reserve live giraffes, zebras, impalas, nyalas, duikers, kudus, blue wildebeests, waterbuck, blesbuck, warthogs, monkeys, porcupines, tortoises, and many bird species including of course the ostrich, in Afrikaans Volstruis and in the local Setswana language Ntshwe, the symbol of the Ostrich Manor.
With our Eco Lodge as starting point we organise Game Drives, Horseback Safaris and Hikes in the Silkaatsnek Nature Reserve. All activities will be undertaken with an experienced and knowledgeable guide to guarantee a great experience for both you and our wildlife.
